Hola,
My name is Jim Ortiz, I’m 20 years old, and I’m from Chicago, Illinois. I’m currently a junior at Kendall College and I’m pursuing a B.A in culinary arts.
I work at Frontera Grill in both sauce production and the Frontera line but I’m taking a small break in order to pursue an internship in Mexico City.
I will be doing an internship at Pujol, a fine dining Mexican restaurant.
I have left my hometown of Chicago and now live in Mexico City, el D.F. It’s a really big change but I like it already.
With this blog I hope to share my experiences of the city, the food, the art and history, and everything else possible.
They say a chilango is someone outside of el D.F who moves to el D.F to live, work, and/or study. I’m coming from Chicago “Chi-Town” to live and work in el D.F. This is why I’ve decided to name this blog “Chi-Lango: Mi vida en el D.F.”
I’m new to this whole blogging and I’m not sure how it works but I’ll learn in the process and hope you all enjoy it.
-Jim
